Ministry Development Workshop - Register Today!

Join us March 27-29 for our third Ministry Development Workshop, hosted by Midwest Conference, Freedom Fire Ministries, and Love Mercy Do Justice, to be held at Hillcrest Covenant Church in Prairie Village, KS.
If you are planting a church in an urban context, serving in an under-resourced area, or seeking ways to develop community partnerships, this workshop will give you practical tools for sustainable ministry. Check out what participants from previous workshops have to say:
  • Instead of feeling "locked out" due to lack of resources, I sensed God opening doors of opportunity through the training I and my colleagues received.
  • An excellent way to either jumpstart or revitalize your ministry and be inspired by the diverse environmentall that God is doing in pockets all over the country!
  • This is a solid investment of time. I highly recommend it for all leaders!
More information can be found here. Register soon to take advantage of the limited number of spots!

Welcome, Renovate ECC!

On January 22, leaders from four Denver area churches gathered in Parker, CO, to celebrate the start of Renovate, the MWC's newest church plant. Co-pastors Greg and Susan Russell have a long history of ministry in nearby Aurora and were introduced to the Covenant last summer through a “Get to know the ECC” gathering at Aurora Community Covenant Church.

The Russells are joined by a committed launch team of over 40 adults. Their mission is to live the story of Jesus: to do the things He did and to do the things He told us to do, and to teach others to do the same. They are planning to launch Sunday morning worship this spring.

Greg is a gifted musician and songwriter. To learn more about Renovate, or to listen to their original music, visit If you know people near Parker who may be interested in Renovate, contact the pastors at or

Renovate is a partnership of the Denver Metro Churches, the MWC, and the ECC.

Update on New Life Covenant Church

New Life Covenant in Wichita, KS, began weekly worship on January 22 after their original Launch Sunday was iced out the previous week. The church has a dedicated launch team that is focused on inviting others to join them in worship. They have also been active in their community, assisting individuals with needs and actively ministering to refugees. We thank you for your prayers and support in launching this new church plant and ask that you would continue to pray for the growth of its ministry in the weeks and months to come.

Financial Training for Church Leadership

How do we align our church budget to our ministry plans? What do I need to know about ministerial compensation and taxation? What does healthy generosity and stewardship look like?

Get answers to these questions and more when you attend this financial seminar designed for church pastors, treasurers, church leadership and staff, hosted by Midwest Conference, National Covenant Properties and Start and Strengthen Churches. A $15 fee covers lunch and snacks. Early bird registration is required to receive a copy of your church's financial dashboard and an assessment of internal controls (see area flyer for details). This spring, the ECC is excited to introduce the BLESS initiative, a new approach to prayer and evangelism that includes five simple practices. Prayer and Evangelism Sunday is scheduled for Sunday, March 19; however, we encourage your church to select a Sunday in March that works best for you to identify those in your spheres of influence that God is calling you to BLESS.

Be sure to send completed BLESS forms with your delegates to the Annual Ministry Celebration in April so that we may pray over these names as a conference.
Click here to learn more about the BLESS initiative and to order materials for your church. (Bulletin inserts should be ordered by March 5 to ensure delivery in time for Prayer and Evangelism Sunday.)
We look forward to joining you in praying over these names in April!

From Our Superintendent

This is always an exciting time as we prepare to celebrate another year of shared ministry. It is such an encouragement to worship together, learn together, eat together and hear how God is moving in our conference churches and ministries to further his Kingdom.

Midwest Conference staff has been meeting with groups around the conference to engage in conversation about where we believe God is leading the conference over the next 10 years. We look forward to sharing this vision at the Annual Ministry Celebration (AMC) in Lenexa! Registration for the AMC is now open, so please be sure to share the materials with your congregation. Anyone is welcome to attend as a guest and we encourage churches to send multiple participants. Be sure those attending as guests or delegates get registered soon to be eligible for the prize drawing. We also encourage area churches to join us for Friday evening worship where we will pray over the names collected as part of the BLESS initiative.

We recognize that your prayers, efforts and generous giving make it possible for us to live into our shared mission and come together for this celebration each year. Thank you for your faithful partnership!

To God be the glory!

We invite you to consider a special gift for the mission of the Midwest Conference. Visit Midwest Conference Donations.
