Premier League: Sadio Mane signs new deal with Liverpool

Liverpool have announced that Sadio Mane has agreed terms on a new long-term contract, with sources telling ESPN FC that the new deal runs until 2023. Liverpool opened talks with Mane's representatives in the summer and the club expect the contract to be signed before the end of the year. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: "This is a big boost for everyone and another demonstration of how the players we have at this club are committed, not just to our present but our future also. "I can't think of a single club anywhere in Europe that wouldn't want a player like Sadio available to them, so the fact he wants to remain with us says something about where we are currently." Mane has joined forward partners Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in committing his future to the Merseyside club. The 26-year-old has gone on to become an integral member of Jurgen Klopp's side and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as a result. The Senegal international has scored 40 goals in 89 appearances for the Reds following his arrival from Southampton in the summer of 2016.

Premier League: Claudio Ranieri looks to save Fulham

Fulham coach Claudio Ranieri has called on his players to wipe the slate clean as they begin their quest to survive relegation. The Cottagers are currently rock-bottom of the Premier League and three points from safety after a dismal run of six straight defeats, despite a summer transfer spend of over £100 million. Owner Shahid Khan made the decision to replace manager Slavisa Jokanovic with experienced coach Ranieri, who famously won the league title with Leicester City in 2016, before the international break. And the Italian, who takes charge of his first game at home to Southampton on Saturday, wants a fresh start as he begins a monumental task in rescuing the club from relegation. "[We need to] clean everything and restart," he told reporters ahead of the game. Today I said this, restart every time, we can win, lose, clean and restart tomorrow. Forget the past.

  • Rafa Benitez will turn to Major League Soccer in an attempt to land a player he believes could save Newcastle's waning season. Those are the claims of the Sun, who report that Benitez has identified Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron as the man to deliver his side from relegation.
  • Marcus Rashford is prepared to hear Real Madrid out should the Spanish giants actually go ahead with their rumored plan to submit an offer for the Manchester United youngster. Frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford, Rashford, who is also drawing interest from Juventus, is reportedly willing to at least listen to any offer Real have for him, says the Sun.
  • Sky in Italy has claimed that Manchester United could make an approach for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic. The 21-year-old Serb has established himself as one of Serie A's leading young defenders, attracting interest from Jose Mourinho. La Viola rebuffed interest in Milenkovic over the summer but Mourinho may test the club's resolve with a big-money bid as his search for defensive reinforcements gathers pace.
