Our Mission
To make hunger history in Idaho by developing solutions to the root causes of hunger through education and public policy.

Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>,

Effective child support within families is a key defense against hunger. Therefore, the Idaho Interfaith Roundtable Against Hunger (IIRAH) has a deep interest in the success of Governor Otter’s new draft Child Support Enforcement Act. We welcome his decision to bring this legislation before you in a special session, and we urge you to give it a fresh and favorable hearing.

IIRAH appreciates that each member of the Judiciary, Rules, and Administration Committee made a conscientious effort in its first hearing to balance the needs of Idaho’s children against other valued principles. We thank the Governor and the many legislators who have worked together to answer the committee’s concerns, and we hope that the way is now clear for Idaho to adopt this legislation.

There are an estimated 400,000 Idahoans in families that depend on child support orders to make ends meet. In addition, many other families benefit from the safety net programs that require Idaho to have an approved child support enforcement plan in place. Please make the well-being of these Idaho families your highest priority and pass the proposed legislation.
