May News from Added Value Farms!

We'd like to give a huge sprout out and thank you to High Mowing Organic Seeds and Renee's Garden Seeds for their incredible donation of seeds to Added Value Farms this year! So many beautiful varieties - many organic, non-GMO, and open-pollinated. We are humbled by their generosity and excited to get these beautiful bundles of embryonic life in the ground!
Farm volunteer hours begin in earnest this month! Every Saturday from 10:30am-1pm we'll be on the farm and welcome you to join. No registration needed unless you're bringing a big group - just show up dressed for the work and the weather, and we'll get you in the field. Our teens will lead the way for many tasks and if you're lucky you'll meet our official Farm Baby, Maziar!
It's Blueberry Becky, our Apprentice of the Month
Registration has officially begun for the Red Hook CSA, Added Value's community farm-share program. Buy a weekly share of produce grown right here on the farm! We also contract with local suppliers to offer fruit, cheese, meat, fish, and eggs. New sliding scale prices and payment options this year - click here for more info. Cut your carbon footprint and support local farms!
Eggplants are just a few months away
Spring hasn't officially sprung until our youth are back on the farm! This spring's Youth Empowerment Program began last month with trainings on botany, tools, and teamwork. Now it's all hands on deck to get the fields planted in time for our summer market and farm-share programs. We're already recruiting teens for the summer, check the YEP page for details.
