New Forecasted USAID Opportunities

In August 2017, USAID added up to $366 million in new opportunities to the Mission Forecast. Below is a breakdown of the top sectors and countries for these new forecasted opportunities.
Ethiopia anticipates two Global Health procurements, totaling $51M - $104M in new funding. The EHIP Water Supply and Management activity, a $1M - $4M contract, will provide water supply systems for 11 health centers throughout Ethiopia along with comprehensive management training to ensure that the systems can be properly operated and maintained by the health center staff. A $50M - $100M cooperative agreement, the USAID Comprehensive HIV Services for Key and Priority Populations, will focus on identifying key and priority populations and providing HIV prevention and treatment services and linking with community- and facility-based HIV services across the clinical cascade in Ethiopia.
Afghanistan anticipates a $50M - $100M Economic Growth and Trade cooperative agreement entitled Afghanistan Job Creation Program (AJCP). The program has two main objectives: 1) to generate revenue and sustainable jobs by supporting value chain development in Micro SMEs; and 2) to support trade promotion and facilitate Afghan businesses in increasing exports.
Egypt is forecasted to receive $35M - $75M in funding for new Economic Growth and Trade opportunities. The Economic Security, Regional Business, and Trade Development Project, a $25M - $50M contract, will assist the government of Egypt to undertake economic reforms, and SMEs to build the capacity to take full advantage of new trade opportunities created by those reforms. The project aims to improve bilateral trade flows with trading partners, increase trade and export earnings, and attract business and investment to Egypt. A $10M - $25M contract, Macroeconomic Technical Assistance, will assist the Government of Egypt to undertake fiscal and budgetary reforms based on international standards and best practices at the Ministry of Finance and potentially other Ministries involved in budget and cash management issues. The activity would provide technical assistance to improve cash management, budgeting, and expenditure control to promote greater efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
Honduras is forecasted to issue a $10M - $25M Education task order/delivery order under ABE-LEARN entitled Quality Reading Materials Activity Procurement. The purpose of this Activity is to increase the availability of quality reading materials for first to sixth grade students and teachers in DO1 and DO2 target schools, by strengthening the Ministry of Education's stewardship for supplying quality learning materials for reading instruction to schools.
Nepal anticipates a $10M - $25M Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance contract entitled Support to Federalization. USAID plans to provide support to Nepal's state restructuring and devolution to local bodies as envisioned and empowered in Nepal's 2015 Constitution.  It will do so by providing support to citizens to access government services and their newly elected local officials. The project will also support local level government performance by working with those bodies in their provision of services to the public in an inclusive, transparent, and responsive manner.  Finally, USAID will support institutionalizing inclusive citizen participation in local decision making and public accountability mechanisms, as well as mainstreaming conflict mediation into new local governance systems, processes, and structures.
