New Forecasted USAID Opportunities

In June 2017, USAID added up to $479 million in new opportunities to the Mission Forecast. Below is a breakdown of the top sectors and countries for these new forecasted opportunities. 
Egypt anticipates a $25M - $50M Economic Growth and Trade contract, entitled Economic Security, Regional Business, and Trade Development Project. The project aims to improve bilateral trade flows with trading partners, increase trade and export earnings, and attract business and investment to Egypt. USAID forecasts a a $25M - $50M Agriculture and Food Security contract, entitled Value-Added Agriculture, which builds on USAID's investments in assisting Egypt's small farmers to export horticulture produce that meet international standards. Finally, Egypt anticipates a $10M - $25M Economic Growth & Trade contract. The Macroeconomic Technical Assistance project would assist the Government of Egypt undertake fiscal and budgetary reforms based on international standards and best practices at the Ministry of Finance and potentially other Ministries involved in budget and cash management issues.
Ethiopia anticipates a $50M - $100M Global Health award, entitled HIV Key and Priority Populations Activity, which will focus on identifying key and priority populations and providing HIV prevention and treatment services and linking with community- and facility-based HIV services across the clinical cascade. Ethiopia is also forecasted to receive a $1M - $4M contract, EHIP Water Supply and Management, which would provide water supply systems for 11 health centers throughout Ethiopia along with comprehensive management training to ensure that the systems can be properly operated and maintained by the health center staff. 

Afghanistan is forecasted to receive a $50M - $100M Economic Growth and Trade cooperative agreement, the Afghanistan Job Creation Program (AJCP).

Bangladesh is forecasted to receive a $25M - $50M Global Health award, entitled the Bangladesh Zero TB Cities Project. The project will provide a comprehensive package of TB prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment services in high TB transmission areas and people at high risk of TB infection and disease in urban Bangladesh.  Its objective is to decrease TB deaths through increased TB treatment coverage.  

Ghana anticipates a $25M - $50M Economic Growth and Trade Task Oder/Delivery Order, The Ghana Energy Development Program (GEDP) is a part of the Power Africa Initiative focused on transforming the Power Sector in Ghana. The program will target capacity building and technical assistance for energy sector stakeholders. This will include transaction advisory support, competitive procurement of power support, renewable energy development, and gas and fuel supply issues.
