New Forecasted USAID Opportunities
In July FY18, USAID added up to $180 million in newly forecasted funding opportunities to the Mission Forecast. Analysis of the larger of these anticipated opportunities is included below.
Egypt is forecastedto receive between $25M to $50M in an Economic Growth and Trade contract. The awardee of this contract will assist the government of Egypt to undertake economic reforms, and assist SMEs to build the capacity to take full advantage of the trade opportunities created by these new reforms. The project aims to improve bilateral trade flows with trading partners, increase trade and export earnings, and attract business and investment to Egypt. The anticipated solicitation release date is September 30, 2018.
Haiti anticipates a total of $14M-$35M in new funding opportunities by USAID, between two different programs. $10M-$25M will go towards the Improving Governance in Haiti Initiative (IGHI) contract seeks to improve governance within Haiti. The second program is a cooperative agreement for $4M-$10M. The Counter-trafficking in Human Beings program aims to do exactly what it's title says: reduce and fight the trafficking of human beings.
Peru is forecasted to receive $14M-$35M in the form of two funding opportunities. The largest of the two newly forecasted opportunities is for $10M-$25M in Amazon Indigenous Rights & Resources cooperative agreement. This programunder the Environment and Global Climate Change sector will support work with the indigenous groups that includes the Private Sector, Governments and the Civil Society (including academia) to raise awareness on indigenous people’s rights and responsibilities. The second project is forecasted is a Task Order/Delivery Order award for $4M-$9M. The Combating Environmental Crimes activity will work to strengthen the institutional capacity of Peru to uphold the legal framework as it relates to environmental crimes. It focus on illegal logging and mining to ensure that the Government of Peru has the capacity for compliance, monitoring, enforcement, and prosecution.
Pakistan is anticipating the release of a $10M-$25M contract in the Management sector. The Communications and Outreach Project - Pakistan aims to accomplish a number of extensive media and outreach campaigns to improve Pakistanis' awareness and understanding of U.S. government civilian assistance activities to the country. Specifically, the contractor will be responsible for increasing understanding and general awareness of USAID/Pakistan’s programmatic objectives, the importance of the partnership between the citizens and institutions of the United States and Pakistan, and how this partnership brings about tangible improvements for the Pakistani people.
