Newly Forecasted USAID Funding Opportunities

In September FY18, USAID added up to $635 million in newly forecasted funding opportunities to the Mission Forecast. An analysis of the largest of these anticipated opportunities is included below.
Afghanistan is anticipating between $100M to $300M in a single award within the Economic Growth and Trade sector. The Afghanistan Competitiveness for Export-Oriented Businesses Program aims to support and enhance the market-driven growth of Afghan SMEs associated with export-oriented value chains and enterprise clusters in Afghanistan. This will be achieved through a direct technical and in-kind support of leading afghan exporters and relevant supply/value chain.

Senegal is forecasted to receive a total of $85M-$175M between three awards. The largest of these three is a cooperative agreement forecasted for $50M-$100M in the Global Health sector. The goal of the Integrated Health Service Delivery award is to improve access and quality of maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health, family planning, and nutrition services at the local level. The second award opportunity forecasted this month is within the Agriculture and Food Security sector anticipated at $25M-$50M. The Resilience and Natural Resource Management activity. The final award Senegal anticipates is the Backbone Support and Learning activity for projected to be worth $10M-$25M.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo anticipates a total of $20M-$50M split between two newly forecasted funding opportunities within the Environment and Global Climate Change sector. One anticipated program is the USAID Forestry and Biodiversity Support Activity, a contract worth $10M-$25M. The second forecasted award is the USAID Conservation through Economic Empowerment in ROC contract worth $10M-$25M. The goal of this activity is to stimulate the growth of sectors complementary to conservation objectives in the ROC and bring direct benefits to both conservation and communities adjacent to protected areas.

Peru anticipates a new funding opportunity for $10M-$25M in the Environment and Global Climate Change sector. The Combating Environmental Crimes task order/delivery order will focus on illegal logging and mining to ensure that the Government of Peru has the capacity for compliance, monitoring, enforcement, and prosecution. It will, as appropriate, support the efficient interdiction of environmental crimes. This activity will strengthen the institutional capacity to uphold the legal framework. This activity will increase access to data and information to inform decision making and raise awareness.
