Why Scientific Literacy is Necessary for Evangelization

Please note that there is a change in time/date regarding the "Why Scientific Literacy is Necessary for Evangelization" lecture by Dr. Stacy Transancos. The lecture will take place on Friday, October 28th from 10:30am to 11:45am (EST) in the Holy Apostles Chapel Auditorium or Online on the Holy Apostles Youtube Channel (Click Here).Dr. Stacy A. Trasancos will explain how science led her to faith and gives a rally to leaders to reach out to our culture and evangelize through modern science. Dr. Trasancos will be available in the Holy Apostles refectory after 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 27th and will be signing copies of her book, which will be made available to the community at a cost of only $9.75. 

The Friday morning lecture will answer:

  • Why does anyone need to know about science?
  • How can Catholics lead the discourse rather than continually defending our place among scientific progress?

Dr. Stacy A. Trasancos is a member of the Holy Apostles Online Adjunct faculty. Dr. Trasancos teaches the “Reading Science in the Light of Faith” course for Holy Apostles College & Seminary which is sponsored by the John Templeton Foundation through the Science in Seminaries initiative at John Carroll University. Her latest book is Particles of Faith: A Catholic Guide to Navigating Science (Ave Maria Press).  

Trasancos is a frequent guest on Catholic radio, including SiriusXM The Catholic Channel, Jennifer Fulwiler Show, Busted Halo, Relevant Radio, EWTN Global Catholic Network, and Breadbox Media, and she is a writer for EWTN’s National Catholic Register.
