Reflecting on what we've accomplished...

Dear Oregon Children's Choir Family,

When  I look back upon all of the memories I have with OCC over the years, I feel so proud of all of our choristers! They are the reason that we work so hard to keep OCC going -- so that they will keep singing!

Here's a list of ten things that OCC has accomplished during my years of involvement:

  • We've given hope to the youth in our choirs.
  • We've offered a sense of acceptance.

  • We've brought joy to our communities.

  • We've made memories that we smile about later when looking back.

  • We've created a feeling of team spirit, pride, and accomplishment.

  • We've invited, hosted, befriended and welcomed music makers from around the world!

  • We've traveled together in new places. sharing our music with others and having adventures along the way.

  • We've learned new music, singing skills, and how to be good friends together.

  • We've spread love, laughter and belonging to others and each other.

  • We've performed songs that we will treasure in our hearts forever.

I hope that you will take some time to reflect on what choir means to you.

Let us know what you love most about choir and what you’d like to see more of in choir.  We would love to hear from you!

Benefit Concert!

Thank you so much!
Thank you to everyone who came to OCC's Benefit Concert. Your assistance and contributions raised funds that will help us to keep OCC's programs both enriching and affordable! We're especially grateful because we will be awarding many trip scholarships this year!
Girlchoir performed "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" at the Benefit Concert.

New OCC Parent & Alumni Choir!

We would meet on Mondays from 6:00pm until 7:30pm, probably every 2 weeks (or as needed). We would sing for an hour and have social time afterwards. It would be at FUMC in room 19. Paula Ward has offered to lead this fun group!  Our repertoire would be 3-4 parts SATB, classic choir literature and maybe collaboration with other OCC choirs. If you are interested, please email for more details!

Spring Trip Information!

All choirs (except Prelude) plan on taking a trip this Spring. Trip Deposits will begin to appear on statements in January. The elementary choirs will take a one day trip (average cost $50-$75)  The middle school choirs will be taking multi-day trips (average costs $300-$800 depending on choir). Some high school groups will be taking a one-day trip and some will be taking a multi0day trip (please contact your director/parent helper for more information.)

To secure travel plans, OCC will be billing a non-refundable trip deposit. Please discuss with your director if you will not be joining your choir’s trip this year (trips are considered a requirement as a member of the choir unless it has been approved by your director to miss the trip). The deposit will be due beginning the end of February. For any questions, please contact your director or Kathryn Genoves, Accounts Manager at

Deposit amounts are as follows:

* JAS choirs -- $25 deposit
* One day high school trip deposits -- $50 deposit
* Multi-day road trip deposits -- $100 deposit
* Trips including airfare -- $200 deposit
Trip Scholarship Drive!

Can you help us to raise money for scholarships?

Last year OCC provided nearly $2,500 in trip scholarships to those who needed financial help for choir trips. This year we have a 25% increase in membership and will be taking bigger trips, so we anticipate an even greater need for financial assistance than we saw last year. Our goal for 2016-17 is $3,000.

** If you need a trip scholarship, please let us know ASAP! **

Thanks!
