A new year, a new website, and a new scholarship honoring Gabe Cole.
Happy Nepali New Year!
April marks Nepali New Year, and with it a new beginning for Bo M. Karlsson Foundation. We are excited to announce the re-launch of our website
Gabe Cole Scholarship
The Bo M. Karlsson Foundation is honored to announce the Gabe Cole Scholarship. Gabe Cole served as treasurer for the Bo M. Karlsson Foundation from 2012-14. Gabe had a love for helping others, from supporting animal charities to volunteering weekly at a center for low-income seniors. After learning about the mission of BMKF, she became an avid supporter in helping the women of Nepal.  She volunteered many hours keeping the BMKF books in order and up to date. Her kindness, gentle ways and great sense of humor always brought warmth to our board meetings. She is deeply missed by all.

To honor Gabe’s memory and continue the legacy of her generous heart, the Bo M. Karlsson Foundation is creating a scholarship in her name. The Gabe Cole Scholarship will fund the college education of a young Nepali woman wishing to pursue Accounting or Bookkeeping. We hope through this scholarship, Gabe’s generosity and kindness will live on through the young women who are supported in her name.

BMKF Visitors
Our scholars were recently immersed in a flurry of excitement, as they were visited by some wonderful people of the BMKF community.

“It has been two exciting days for our scholars in Kathmandu. Yesterday they had tea with former board members Jackie Garces and Sujan Shrestha, and today they met with Cora Edmonds, the founder of Namaste Children's Fund and BMKF Nepal advisor Chimey Sherpa,” said Sonnia Karlsson.

Of her visit, Cora Edmonds said, “BMKF scholars rock! Not only are they smart and hardworking, but well-spoken and confident, as well - just beautiful inside and out.”
