 Season's Greetings!

holiday heartWow!—and sigh… “Wow” because it is hard to believe that it is the end of another year—and “sigh”… because the season tends to bring a frenetic pace that leaves us dizzy and exhausted. As the year winds down, it is the perfect time to step back and evaluate your year and also plan for the next one. Below you will find some suggestions for how to embrace the season, while also creating a conscious blueprint for 2017.

But first….The results of your “wish list” are in! A big THANK YOU to those of you who completed the recent survey concerning your interests in upcoming topics for classes, workshops, retreats, etc.!  Although there was great interest in all topics listed in the survey, by far, the most requested categories of services were Mind/Body/Spirit Health and Spiritual Health/Soul Development. As I’ve mentioned many times, our soul’s evolution is infinite, and it is my mission to provide you with the tools to embrace every aspect of this area of personal growth. So, in the months to come, you will see many more offerings geared toward enhancing your soul’s evolution, which of course paves the way for a more radiant life overall.

In other news, the Soul Health Study/Discussion Group for this month (December 5th at 7:30 p.m.) will include our annual “Soul Cleanse” evening and ceremony. Come to release into 2017 with a clearer slate. Also, please note that the group will take a brief break from its usual monthly schedule and will resume in April 2017 with a bit of a freshened look and feel. (Stay tuned for more information.)  I will be taking that time to make some changes to the website and also design some classes and workshops for the rest of the year. I hope to see you in April!

May your holidays bring you much love, light, gratitude, and peace. I am so grateful for your readership and thank each of you for your suggestions and support.

  Prescription for Closure of
2016 and a Vibrant 2017

Many of you are familiar with my “Prescription for prescriptionSoul Health” that comes at the end of each year. I have participated in this process for decades and wouldn’t be where I am without a conscious dedication to both clearing out/releasing the past and setting clear and conscious intentions for the future.

Here’s your Prescription for Soul Health:

First, take some time to evaluate your year to determine whether you evolved in the way or pace that you wished. Note what is “same, different, better, or worse” than at this time last year. Consider what you could have done differently, what you did well, and what you would like to add or change for the next year.

reviewSecond, make a list of all of the things you’d like to let go of from this year, including the thoughts that no longer serve you, the habits that get in the way of your growth, the beliefs about yourself, others, or the world that inhibit your evolution, and anything else that you know you need to change or eliminate in your life in order to move forward unencumbered.

Third, set a time/date before December 31st calendarin which you will burn this list. Create a ceremony or ritual around this sacred burning so that you can mindfully and intentionally commit to letting go of the items on this list. Consider also burning and releasing old journals or diaries that hold negativity or difficult memories. Although many believe these documents are parts of history to be maintained, these items also contain the sometimes painful energy behind many difficult events and eras in life. Perhaps it is time to release the energy behind these events so that you can consciously evolve beyond them.

clean environmentFourth, spend some time before the end of the year cleaning out your home—remove items that no longer interest or serve you. Clean out clutter and excess material objects. All of this extra “stuff” energetically impedes our growth and slows down the flow of evolution. Go room by room and attempt to remove at least one or two items that you no longer need or want. Once removed from the home, you will inevitably feel lighter and less weighted down.

Fifth, consider setting a “theme” for 2017 that yearly plan will guide your evolution. New Year’s resolutions and most goals fade within the first couple weeks, but setting a theme can last the full 365 days. Once set, you can weave in endless ways to work on your theme so that this becomes part of your framework and foundation by the end of the year. For instance, a theme of self-love might entail daily affirmations, periodic pampering sessions, healthy behaviors, and more—all to be incorporated as an investment in that aspect of your soul health. (The options are endless!)

pauseSixth, on December 31st, pause long enough to acknowledge that the year is coming to an end and that you are consciously committing to your growth in 2017.

Finally, on January 1st, take a few minutes Celebrate!(or more!) to celebrate the opportunity for a new year of evolution in whatever way(s) you choose. Your commitment to consciousness and your intentionality in following through are the most important ingredients in your prescription for Soul Health.

Get to work on your evolution! Do one thing every day that will contribute to your growth and evolution. Get creative, and you’ll see the results on a daily basis.

Remember, evolution takes time. By choosing to consciously evolve, we ensure our radiant health and overall life satisfaction. See what your prescription for health will bring to you by this time next year!

 A Note About the Election

Keep calm and change the worldIt has been three weeks since the election, and as a therapist, I can verify that people are still reeling from the results. All but a few clients have been distraught and extremely concerned about the future of our country as well as for the impact the new administration will have on their families, the environment, finances, healthcare, human rights, and their lives in general. I can honestly say, that from a psychological perspective, this event has jolted many Americans equally, if not more than the events of 911.

I am equally concerned. It appears that the country is moving backwards in terms of equality, consciousness, and overall evolution. In some ways, this may indeed be the case. However, I also believe that things happen for a reason, and that all things happen for our soul’s evolution, despite how uncomfortable these events may make us feel.

There is much to be learned from this election and any subsequent impact it may have. My wish for you is that you take the time to explore what it is that you can learn from this event, no matter if you were happy or disappointed with the results. It is imperative that we find common ground if we are to continue in our evolution. Love consciousness requires us to attempt to understand another’s viewpoint, regardless of agreement. It is when we block or deny another person’s view that we cease to evolve, yet continue to create division.

Please keep this in mind, and work to be sensitive to what others are experiencing. Although I’m certainly not an expert on the Bible, I do understand Christ Consciousness. This entails unconditionally accepting even our enemy’s view so that we can create Oneness—an interconnectedness between all, regardless of race, gender, sexual preference, religious background, socio-economic level, and any other “difference” we might perceive to have with another. Our soul’s evolution—and the population’s evolution—deserves our attention and sensitivity at this critical time.

Let’s not overlook that we are all souls just trying to find our way through this crazy thing we call life.

Thank you for reading this and for committing to remain open to your evolution.
