This webinar includes a summary of the forthcoming 2022 State of Housing in Harris County and Houston report and a panel discussion on affordable housing challenges.

Read the inaugural State of Housing report (2020) to learn how dozens of key housing indicators shifted between 2010 and 2018. The second State of Housing report was released in 2021 with a review of changes from 2018-2019. The 2022 report will be the first in the series to capture the pandemic’s impact on the local housing market. Register here.

METRO Park & Ride and Local Bus Service Adjusted to Match Rider Demand

More convenient service is on the way as METRO makes adjustments to increase reliability on various local bus and Park & Ride routes.

Effective Sunday, June 5, the 29 Cullen / Hirsch route will end at the Kashmere Transit Center, and the 36 Kempwood will be extended between the Northline and Kashmere Transit Centers. The 36 Kempwood will increase its frequency to every 20 minutes.

Kinder Houston Area Survey: 2022 Results

The 41st annual Kinder Houston Area Survey is the last conducted by Stephen Klineberg, founding director of Rice University's Kinder Institute for Urban Research and professor emeritus of sociology. Through intensive interviews reaching a total of more than 50,000 Houstonians over the years, the surveys have documented significant changes in the way area residents perceive and understand Houston’s ongoing challenges and opportunities. No city in the nation has been tracked in this way over such a long period of time.

The American Planning Association provides a number of opportunities for AICP members to obtain Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for free through on-demand education products.
