Spotlight on . . .

Facials
Facials are a really relaxing treatment, whilst allowing you to take care of your skin.  Some of the benefits of a facial include a deeper cleanse, removal of dead skin cells, de-stress and relax, to help prevent premature aging, increase circulation among other things.

A basic facial consists of a cleanse to get rid of any makeup and dirt, a tone to remove traces of impurities and cleanser then a moisturiser to hydrate and protect the skin.

To add an element of luxury why not try a deep cleanse using a facial steamer which opens the pores to allow for a gentle extraction.  Or add a hydrating masque to revitalise the skin including a complimentary 10min massage whilst it works its magic, or a facial massage to put you into a deep relaxation.

Or all three for an hour and 15mins of pure indulgence.
Question time
I've kept the question the same this month as it's one I get asked a lot and as the weather is changing and we're putting on our heating more thought it was even more appropriate

Q: What do I do if I get cracked/ flaky nails?

A: The key is to hydrate and add oils back into the nails.  Solar oil is a great product to do this, but a good hand cream or cuticle oil will work as well; best to use after washing and thoroughly drying your hands to avoid them drying out.  I wouldn't advise using a nail hardener or strengthener as in the long run this could have the opposite affect and make the cracking/ peeling worse.  Always try and wear rubber gloves when washing up, doing gardening and using harsh chemicals.

If your nails don't improve with time there may be other reasons for it i.e. low levels of vitamin C, folic acid or certain proteins or iron deficiency, thyroid or kidney problems so best to seek medical advice.
