Completing the Roosevelt Revolution: Why the Time for a Federal Job Guarantee Has Come

Pavlina R. Tcherneva, Research Scholar at the Binzagr Institute, argues that a Job Guarantee program secures a basic human right, tackles at least three key sources of “economic violence and injustice”—unemployment, precarious work, and poverty wages. Furthermore, the  Job Guarantee benefits families, the economy, the environment, and our communities. Hockett Testifies in Congress



Robert Hockett
, Research Scholar at the Binzagr Institute and Edward Cornell Professor of Law and Cornell Law School, testified before the U.S. House Financial Services Committee in Washington D.C. on November 19, 2015. You can watch the video here. He speaks at the 00:34 mark, and again during the Q&A at the 1:24 and 1:31 mark. The focus of the hearings was on the oversight of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) with particular emphasis on due process and transparency in the designation of non-banks as Systematically Important Financial Institutions (SIFI). Welcoming new colleagues

We are delighted to welcome Tanweer Ali as a new Research Fellow at the Binzagr Institute. Tanweer is a lecturer with Empire State College, State University of New York and a research associate with the Foreign Policy Centre in London. We are also honored to have David Barkin as a new Research Scholar at the Binzagr Institute. David Barkin is a Distinguished Professor of Economics at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City.
