A new book and video lesson package from Glen Rose
Hello Jazzy Fans,
I am happy to announce a new guitar book and video package and am sending this newsletter out to all Jazzy fans because many of you overlap on all three instruments covered by the Jazzy lessons. The subject of the new guitar package covers how to play and understand the jazz blues progression. Jazz players have a different formula for the blues than rock blues players have. I show how to take your normal three-chord, rock blues progression and evolve into a jazz progression. If you play blues scales you can use the ones you already know to jam over the jazz blues chords.
The book is written from the same concept as the “Rock Guitarist’s Gateway to Jazz” book. No complicated jazz theory explanations. There are just two chord shapes needed for playing the entire jazz blues progression. You just have to know where to place them.
Video lesson (53 minutes)
I also made a one-hour video lesson that goes with the book. There is one basic blues progression to learn and then a few common variations on it. I demonstrate them all in the video. The book and video overlap with a lot of the same material, but each has something to offer that the other doesn’t.
Video practice tracks. (51 minutes)
There is also a set of practice tracks (27 tracks) that is a video you can play along with. Every chord is highlighted as it gets played so you can play along with the digital band and not get lost. These tracks also work well for those of you who play ukulele or piano. You can play any instrument over the digital bass and drums grooves.
The new book and video are available on the website or you can just click on the buy-buttons below.
