2014 Tax Packets - Digital vs. Paper

Yes - your 2014 Tax Organizers are being completed and will be on their way to you by the end of this week (January 9, 2015)!

We're happy to tell you that we have been hard at work on your 2014 Tax Organizers.  Tax law changes in 2014 required that we revamp several of the documents we send to you, and that we include some important new information. 

Some things to watch for:

  • ACA Requirement to Have Health Insurance - This document is included with your packet, and requires your completion, signature and return.
  • New Repair Regulations - In 2013, new regulations were enacted, effective in 2014.  We have included an info sheet with your tax packet that outlines the impact these regulations have on taxpayers.
  • 2014 Engagement Letter - Please remember to return your signed Engagement Letter with your tax documents.  Professional standards dictate that we have this letter signed prior to commencing work on your return.
How will you receive your Tax Packet? 
  • Portals:  Efficient and secure!  In our ongoing efforts to "go green," those of you with existing online portals will receive your 2014 tax packets in your portal.  The portal system will automatically send you an email notifying you when your documents have been loaded.  Please review your packet promptly for any time-sensitive information.  If you have forgotten how to access your portal, please follow this link: to log in.
  • Paper:  Those of you without online portals will continue to receive your tax packet in paper form via the USPS.  As with our portal clients, please watch your mail and review your packet promptly for any time-sensitive information!
Don't have a portal?  Please consider the advantages!  Your completed tax returns are available through your online portal for up to three years, giving you 24/7 access to your tax documents for your banker, financial adviser, etc.  Unfortunately, we are no longer able to provide you with CD copies of your returns, and will be charging a fee for additional copies of tax returns that may be requested.
