Sunday, February 5
Our very own Elizabeth Ashley will share reflections from her experience at the Women's March in DC. Join us as for a timely message related to our fifth principle of Unitarian Universalism: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.
Kathy Roniger will be our Service Leader.

FIRST HOUR PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN:

Nursery - Provides nurturing childcare for infants through pre-kindergarten.
Picture Book Unitarian Universalism – K-2^nd grade
Explore our UU principles through carefully selected picture books which illustrate UU identity. (Piper Room)
Harry and UU - Grades 3 - 5 include fun wizarding activities, but the main purpose of the curriculum is social action. The class forms a chapter of Dumbledore’s army and fights against various Horcruxes. Horcruxes are real world social action projects in our community. (Stage Room)
Youth - Middle and high school students are welcome in service. Our youth program meets second hour. In January & February, we'll spend some talking the UUA General Assembly, which will be in New Orleans in June: A great opportunity for our youth to connect to the wider UU world!

CHILDREN:
Nursery - Provides nurturing childcare for infants - K
Fun in Action - A time of fun and fellowship for our elementary aged children (Piper Room)
Youth Group - Teens meet 3 Sundays/month (Stage Room)

ADULTS:
Porch Swing – Front of Sanctuary - Led by Kathy Roniger
 Great conversations develop as we discuss our reactions to the themes and topic of our Sunday’s message from the pulpit. Whether you agree or disagree with the perspective expressed, Porch Swing is a great opportunity to share personal viewpoints in a safe, accepting environment!

TED Talks - Board Room - Led by Josh Ashley
This group views one of the video podcasts from the TED conferences and then discusses the ideas expressed by outstanding speakers in the fields of business, science, entertainment and many others. No matter where your particular interest lies, you are sure to find a topic that interests you.

UU Parenting Together: Harmony Room - Led by Jane Park & Gil Brown
Parenting is a spiritual journey! Join Jane and Gil in discussion of the joys and challenges of parenting youth of today (any age!).

WRITE-ON!! Letter Writing Party Invitation from Miriam Williams
6 p.m. on 6 Feb, 13 North Drive, Shalimar: I invite folks to the first of many letter writing parties. We will write to our local, state and national representatives. Let them know what you stand for and why you think they should support your interests. **Grade school children are welcome** to participate ***with their parents.***
Bring your personal stationary, stamps and favorite pen, to write your letters of concern. If you're out of stamps, bring a couple dollars to pitch in to the stamp stock I will provide. If you can, consider bringing along a covered dish to share.
At "closing time" we will get those letters mailed!

Join the next Dinners for 8 on February 18
We had our first Dinners for Eight in January and by all reports everyone had a wonderful time at the three different host's homes. The fellowship and fun of these evenings can't be overstated! If you haven't signed up yet please contact me so you don't miss out because the next D48 is coming up on Sat, Feb 18th. The hosts provide the main entree and coordinate with their guests for which side items they can bring. If you would like to be put on a standby list for times when regular group members may be ill or out of town, we can accommodate that too!
