The  Health Foundation was pleased to present a $20,000 contribution to Annunciation House during El Paso Inc.’s annual El Pasoan of the Year and Community Spirit Awards Luncheon honoring former Congressman Beto O’Rourke and Annunciation House Executive Director Ruben Garcia.

The County Tax office parking lot, located on 301 Manny Martinez Drive, is now available for those traveling to enjoy the Playa Drain Trail at the Ascarate Park entrance.

Working with obese patients 

The Paso del Norte Institute for Health Living is delivering a series of workshops to train allied health and fitness professionals on evidence-based approaches for the management of obesity and its comorbidities. The workshops emphasize practical, tailored, everyday approaches to help patients/clients safely and effectively engage in exercise prescriptions in clinical, home-based, and community settings. The program is funded by the Health Foundation.

New trail segment under construction along Franklin Canal 

It will run from Presa Place to Loop 375 in the Lower Valley and is part of the 60-mile Paso del Norte Trail.

Two new grants for Health Leadership

The Health Foundation recently awarded two grants totaling more than $194 thousand under the Health Leadership Priority Area – REALIZE Initiative. Newly funded organizations are United Way of El Paso County and Fundación Paso del Norte para la Salud y Bienestar.

Loaves and Fishes Fund
