ShopBot on the Road
Professional Development in Washington
Mt. Spokane High School in Mead, WA, has added a ShopBot PRSstandard to their woodshop. ShopBot's Sallye Coyle visited Spokane in June to work with four teachers from two high schools to integrate Aspire CAD/CAM software and the ShopBot into their programs. Two of the participants are master teachers with Project Lead the Way, so they also designed files in Inventor, then brought them into Aspire/VCarve for toolpathing.
Teachers discussing how to integrate the “Stools for the whole family!” project, downloaded from the ShopBot website, into their classes for next school year.
See Sallye's blog post to read more about (and see more photos) on the topics covered during the 3-day professional development session.
Maker Faire Bay Area 2017 Recap
In May, the ShopBot team visited Maker Faire Bay Area, the West Coast’s premier gathering for creators, thinkers, and makers of all ages. At the booth, visitors cut custom nametags on Handibot using the FabMo Badger app, and watched the Desktop MAX cut custom skateboards. Check out some of the sights and sounds of the show in this roundup of the event over at the ShopBot Blog.
