Welcome to 2019 with SRCC!

Hi everyone, James Fedosov here. What's in this email? Well: thanks to past board members, a short AGM recap, your new board of directors, and info on upcoming meetings – all below!

Thank you

First and foremost, I want to extend a gracious "thank you" to the board members who we bid farewell to this year. To Adam Woods, Rob Nespolo, and Michael Dennis: thank you for your time and effort over the years as directors. Though Gabhan is still remaining on the board as Ride Coordinator, I also want to extend a special thanks to him for his years as our club President.

AGM Re-cap

Our AGM took place December 10th, and saw a handful of members show up to pour over the past year's financials, discuss possible new directions for the club, and elect a new board of directors. Thank you to all of those who took time out of their own busy schedules to sit and have a productive and passionate discussion about our cycling community. Chapeau!

Our New Board of Directors

Without further adieu, I would like to introduce to all of you the Speed River Cycling Club Board of Directors for 2019:

James Fedosov (the one typing this email) – President
Rich Lyle – Vice President
Steve Head – Secretary and Treasurer
Kevin Bodbyl – Communications Director
Gabhan Chalmers – Ride Coordinator
Meg Thorburn – Membership Experience Director
Mark Dipple – Director at Large

Upcoming Meetings

After an AGM that involved a ton of excellent discussion around some key areas of improvement for the club, we are holding our first board meeting this coming Monday, January 21st, at 7:00pm. We will be meeting at 5 Queen Street. This meeting is not limited to board members so if you have interest in improving an aspect of the club, please join!

If you can't make it, don't fret! We will be creating a handful of smaller committees that will be dedicated to enhancing one facet of the club, so there will be plenty of chances to be involved. Stay tuned on that front, as we will announce those committees (and when they will meet) in a later email.

If you have questions about any of the above, please do not hesitate to email me.

Lastly, double-thank-you to those who have been kind enough to reach out and offer a helping hand, or who have been a part of the discussion over the last few weeks.

As the saying goes, "many hands make light work" – let's make 2019 Speed River Cycling Club's best year yet.

Ride safe,

James Fedosov
