POLICE magazine published

The latest edition of POLICE Magazine has now been published.

Print copies will be available soon in the usual places, while the magazine is also available to read online

In this month's issue, Policing Minister Brandon Lewis talks on collaboration, there's the latest on our assaults campaign and the pay and morale survey is studied as well as the regular columns from Steve White, the Station Sergeant and Inspector Gadget.

Believe in Blue this Christmas

There is still time to sign up to the Believe in Blue Thunderclap message, as part of the Police Federation’s ongoing Believe in Blue to garner public support for policing at Christmas.

Everyone who signs up in advance will have the same positive message posted on their social media accounts at 12pm on Wednesday 14 December. We already have a reach of more than 800,000 people from those who have signed up so far, so please add your voice.

Million reach from Twitter event

Steve White's Twitter chat with WeCops proved to be a huge success last month.

During the hour-long session, where Steve discussed a number of topics, mainly centering on morale following the recent Pay and Morale survey, there were 91 different contributors and a total of 586 tweets, with interactions meaning that the reach of the tweets was just shy of 1.5million.

A full transcript of the event can be read on the WeCops website.

Mental health in focus

ITV are planning a package of news coverage in the coming weeks in relation to the scale and impact of mental health related illness amongst police officers and staff.

An interview with Steve White will form part of this and supporting communications will be shared with local JBBs and promoted through our usual channels when a broadcast date is known.

Time to consider your audits

A reminder has been issued with regard to the auditing of funds for this year.

A professional auditor needs to be appointed, with their qualifications shown on the F45 Form (which can be found on the Hub) and they must also be provided with a copy of the current Police Federation Fund Rules and to make them aware of the Police Federation (Financial) Regulation 2015.

Home addresses of relevant signatures to the accounts are required to be used.

You are also asked to ensure that the Balance Sheet and Statement of Accounts are completed by the Auditors on the revised Form F45.
