Principal Price's weekly update

Greetings Sherman Oaks CES family, this is Principal Price with this week's reminders.

I hope you had a restful Memorial Day weekend. It was great to see some of you at the flag placement ceremony at the National Cemetery on Saturday. Thank you for coming out.

It's hard to believe there are only eight days until the seniors graduate and 9 before the 5th and 8th grade culminations. There is still a lot going on.

  • Tomorrow is a PD Tuesday with dismissal at 2pm. It will be a 1, 3, 5 day.
  • Wednesday evening will be our first 8th grade recognition night. Mrs. Abrams and Mrs. Hall have worked very hard to put together a special evening. The festivities begin at  5:30 pm in the auditorium.
  • Thursday May 30th will be a very busy day. First at 8:30 in Glenn Hall is the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast where the administration and staff give thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers. This event takes place in Glenn Hall. During period 4 there will be a special memorial service for Mr. Murphy in the auditorium. More details will be forthcoming. And finally we end the day with Senior Awards Night from 5:30 -7:30 in the auditorium. Invitations were sent out to those seniors who will be receiving recognition, but the all seniors are welcome to attend.
  • Friday during the day is the 5th grade picnic in Camelot Garden. Friday night is the annual Pops Concert in Center Circle. Come out and enjoy an evening of music and song performed by the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Senior Chorus and others. The performance is from 7-10 pm.

Like I said its going to be a busy week at school. I look forward to seeing in the morning

And as always, Go Knights!
