The Parent Center invites you to join Mr Price for Coffee wit the Principal Friday Morning at 8:30am. Along with the usual updates and Q&A, Mr. Weldon will be discussing the earthquake drill set for later this month and preparedness tips for families and students. Please join us!

ELAC -English Language Advisory Committee
Wednesday there is a English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting in the PCR afterschool. If you are a committee member or would like to particpate in advising on on our English Learner educational program please attend.

LSLC - Local School Leadership Council
Parents there are three seats available on the Local School Leadership Council. If you are interested in serving, please drop me an email. We will have a vote, hopefully next week before the meeting on the 10th. The LSLC (Local School Leadership Council) meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month and advises the school on calendar, Positive Behavior Support/ Discipline, Technology, Professional Development and a portion of the school budget.

Our Fall Festival is around the corner. Please plan on joining us on Sunday, October 13th for an afternoon of fun, food, games, community building and EPIC performances.  Funds raised at this event support all of our school clubs and teams.

Take a look at this weeks SOCES TV update and recap from our students. 

After School Tutoring and Intervention begins on September  23rd and is available to students who are struggling with course content and wish to improve their grade and understanding. A permission slip is required (see below) 
  • ONLY Mondays and Wednesdays
  • TRANSPORTATION A late bus is available at 5:20pm for secondary students who qualify for transportation. If an elementary student has an older sibling, then they may ride the bus home, otherwise no elementary students can take the late bus. If a student is unable to take the late bus, then transportation will need to be provided by the parent/guardian.
  • SNACKS Students are welcome to pack their own snacks. Snacks will be provided after school at the cafeteria. Students are required to remain on campus and may not leave and come back.

Students will only receive a late bus pass from their teacher. If students are found not attending tutoring, they may lose their privileges to take the late bus.

Do you have books in good condition that you’re all done reading?
DONATE them YEAR ROUND to our Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies Lambert LIBRARY!
In the library there is a grey bin and we are more than happy to take your pre-loved books- they can be for any age! If our library can use them we will happily add them to our shelves; and if not we will sell them at our semi-annual GENTLY USED BOOK SALE and use that money to buy MORE books! Win, win!
