THE FUN GOES ON .....

.... in a Planning Office far far away! Whether it’s a dodgy set of plans or a dodgy set of rules  - after all Heaven is NOT Utopia – It‘s somebody’s job to make sure that the proper Health and Safety measures are in place. And that Beelzebub is a demon for detail!

As for those OfGod Inspectors! They’re just out to find fault with everything you’re doing – not reading the latest trade journals, or failing to apply in advance, in triplicate, for permission to carry out an experiment. No wonder they’re trying to close us down!

You have to laugh – well, we did.
New Comedy writing from Cumbrian scriptwriters David Ross and Kevan France brought to you in the John Peel Theatre. What better way to start Wigton’s Spring?
GALACTIC PREMIER!
Cumbrian Comedy Writers
We are laughing our way through reheasals of these brand new comedies by Cumbrian writers Kevan France and David Ross, of North Cumbria Scriptwriters.
The Keswick Link
North Cumbria Scriptwriters meet once a month at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick. This group of professional and semi-professional writers has a serious commitment to writing for performance. They have links with Penrith Players and Wigton's John Peel Theatre as well as with Theatre by the Lake. The John Peel Theatre has been staging plays by NCS writers since 2012, when we had sell out performances for The Throstle's Nest, by five members of NCS. Feathers Fly in the Throstle's Nest, Reflections, Woven in Wigton, The Last Post, Mother Goose and other pantomimes were all written or co-written by members of NCS past or present. We are delighted that we are now able to present a completely new programme of witty and delightful comedy by two writers whose work has not yet been seen on the John Peel stage. However, we think our audiences will go away asking for more!

Good News!
Thank you to all the generous people who have donated to our emergency roof repair fund, and to Allerdale Borough Council. We have raised enough money for repairs to start in June.
We will continue to seek funding from local and national charities to upgrade our seating and toilets. Both these projects will make your visits even more pleasurable and comfortable.
Other News
We have had many generous cash donations, and a rather more unusual one. A friend has donated a small collection of art works by locallly and nationally known artists to be sold by us. We plan an Open Day and Coffee Morning in June when will auction these works and members of the public will have a chance to see around the theatre and meet members. The pictures will also be available to bid for online. Watch this space!
