2016 - a Year of Great Progress
Thank you to all who have supported our efforts to improve living conditions for 35 orphans in eastern Congo. We thank God for a year of peace in the Kilomoni area and for extremely generous supporters who have given of their time and their resources to bless this small effort in a country with major challenges. It is not too late to make a donation before the 2016 tax deadline. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations made before midnight on December 31, 2016.

Through the generosity of a kind donor, your year-end gift will be doubled if made by midnight on December 31, 2016
Progress towards Sustainability
Farming for Food and Additional Income.
Vegetable growing on small scale and pig farming (7 sows and 18 piglets) on rented land are progressing well.
Water Security
This past year, we installed a 3,000 litre fresh water tank at the orphanage. Boiling lake water is no longer required.
Improved Education
In 2013, our children were attending school, however classrooms were over-crowded, and teachers were not always committed. Now at Mango Tree school, classrooms are more manageable with highly committed teachers and administrators. We have also hired an after-school teacher to tutor children who are struggling at school.
Improved Living Conditions
Through a generous donation by a Canadian family, the children received new beds so that mosquito nets can now be properly attached to better protect the children against Malaria and other mosquito borne diseases.

Maximize your 2016 year-end tax benefit by sending your gift today!

Thank you to all our donors and volunteers, and especially Kristy, Jami, Maya and the team from Island Optimal Health and Moksha Yoga Nanaimo for helping raise over $26,000 towards the land purchase at the November Party For a Purpose fundraiser.

Our Dream

Our dream is to purchase land (around 2 acres) and construct a main building with kitchen/dining room and six small houses (600 sq.ft.). Each small house will be home to 8 children and host parents. The compound will have a vegetable garden, chicken coops and pig pens to produce food for the orphanage, as well as sufficient to sell and help support living expenses. Read more...
An architect rendering of the anticipated compound that will include stand-alone houses, each one housing 8 children and house parents, a main building, and farming area.
