Job Openings:
Mentors Wanted - IFT Mentorship Program

We have been asked if we would try to connect some of the Texas A&M students up with individuals who are already working in the food industry as mentors.

If you have any interest in helping a Food Science student get a better appreciation for how careers in the food industry unfold, and sharing your journey, then please reach out to Bruce Perkin, and he will gladly connect you to someone who would love to hear from you.

We have a broad cross section of students: 1 freshman, 3 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 3 seniors.
3 that are thinking about the advanced degree path, and one is looking at doing an MBA.
3 that are looking to get into product development, and one more interested in the flavors business.

All of them are looking to get advice from someone who has made the transition, and some guidance on how best to set themselves up for success as they prepare to make the transition themselves.

There is nothing formal about how much time you need to spend with any of the mentees, as it is totally up to you and what time you are prepared to give these young folks. However, if anyone would like some general guidance on mentoring before they agree to connect with one of the students, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Bruce, and he will be only too pleased to provide some support.
