August 2019 LIFT Newsletter


I trust everyone is busy but still having fun with the summer season.
The first event of the LIFT meeting schedule this Fall is a social event at Eno’s Pizza in The Sound. We have reserved the roof top bar that is both indoors and outdoors. The Sound - Cypress Waters is a new development within Cypress Waters that plays hosts to several food companies including Brinker, 7-Eleven and Smoothie King headquarters. 
The event will start at 5:30 on Thursday, August 15th and officially runs through 8:30 pm. Next to Eno’s is a small stage and amphitheater that will have live music starting at 7:30 pm. Live music will begin at at approximately 7:30 pm with the band "The Windbreakers." Known for their '70's and early 80's music, the Windbreakers are ready to serenade you and will play live music until 10:30 pm.  The rooftop area of Eno’s should be a great place to experience the show. Get your yacht rock wardrobe ready and invite your coworkers.
We are scheduling technical meetings now for the month of September and October. If any of you have any particular topics you would like to see covered, please feel free to reach out to myself or any of the other LIFT team board members. Our annual Longhorn IFT Golf Tournament followed by Suppliers' Night is considered one of the best events in the nation. With more than 1500+ attendees and 250+ exhibitors, this is an event you do not want to miss.

Booth Cost: $675.00 ea. (2 or more $625 ea.) **Booths Cannot be Split**
(Each Booth includes one table - additional tables are available for $25 each, up to 2 extra tables)

Whole Table Cost: $600.00 ea. (2 or more $550 ea.)
Half Table Cost: $425 ea.(Only available for Brokers)

Electricity by Request: $100.00 per booth, table or half table

Attendance for Supplier's Night is FREE. This includes technical seminars throughout the day, walking the exhibit floor, and buffet/beverages. You do not have to be a member of IFT to attend! Completely FREE! 

Technical seminars are from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (lunch on your own). These seminars do count towards the CFS Continuing Education. More information coming soon...

The exhibit floor opens at 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

The golf tournament is held the day before the Suppliers' Night. It is an event-filled day full of great networking, fun, laughter, cold drinks, a little competitive golf, and all for a great cause. All proceeds benefit Food Science Scholarships to help foster the next generation of students in the Food Science Department at Texas A&M University, Texas Woman's University, and Texas Tech. Play single or in a team!

COST: $150.00 per player - A team of 6 Players is $900


  • A tournament-style scramble with 6 players per team at a bay with legitimate scoring for 1st, 2nd & 3rd (and last) place awards.
  • The day includes about 1.5 hour tournament playtime, first game counts for scoring, then players can continue playing at their bays, walk around and socialize or play additional games of golf (that will not be counted towards scores).
  • There will be a Hole-in-One contest available at a designated bay.
  • A premium chef-prepared lunch buffet will be available during the tournament. 
  • All-you-can-drink beer and wine package will be available from 1-4 pm, with 2 full cash bars also available.
  • All bays will be adjoining on the same level, so there will be lots of networking opportunities throughout the event.
  • All of the bays are covered with A/C and heat, so we will be protected no matter what the weather is that day. 
  • We will have the meeting room reserved for us (located just behind our bays) throughout the tournament.
Don't want to play but want to be a sponsor? NO PROBLEM! Contact Madalyn Thibodeaux and we will make it happen!

  • Title Sponsor - $1,000 (But we can only have one Title Sponsor, so hurry up and grab it before it’s gone!)
