I’m sure many will remember Francis and Elaine Wainaina and some will be aware of the loss of their tandem/gear in Rome. As you will see, we are hoping to raise some money towards a new bike/kit.
We have publicised this amongst St Mike’s members in York but of course Francis and Elaine were much loved at St Andrew’s too.
If you would like to donate, follow the link below: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tandemforfrancis?utm_term=pEja96MM6

This Weeks Prayer Points
U.K: Give thanks for the many answered prayers in the last two weeks, for a peaceful funeral and security on the streets, for Justin Welby's clear gospel message and challenge about the use of power to all present including so many world leaders. Continue to pray for the impact on countless numbers who queued to pay their respects, and those who watched the service worldwide. Pray for our police, as already, in Leicester there have been violent clashes on the streets between Hindus and Muslims. It is feared that this could spread to other cities like Birmingham. Pray for wisdom for the government regarding fuel and food increases and for many businesses and individuals who are fearful. Pray for the N.H.S. and Therese Coffey, our new health minister. Give thanks for King Charles, and pray for the Lord's comfort and protection on all the royal family as they mourn for a further week together. Pray for wisdom for the government especially regarding Northern Ireland, and for the leaders there, in Scotland and Wales.
Ukraine: Give thanks for recent advances in re-taking some cities and villages. Pray for all who are traumatised after the Russian occupation, especially at this time, in Izyium. Pray for the Lord's intervention as President Putin is mobilising reservists in Russia and the Russian backed separatist states are being told to have a referendum on becoming Russian. This would considerably escalate the war. Give thanks that neither China nor Turkey are backing Putin's moves. President Erdogan is calling for a peace process, but what is being suggested may not be acceptable to Ukraine. Continue prayers for an end to the war, now in its 7th month.
Ethiopia: Eritrea is massing troops in the Tigray region. Pray for peace there.
Japan and Caribbean: Both these places are experiencing extreme weather with damage to homes and some lives lost. Pray for Puerto Rico as storm Fiona is approaching.
Pakistan: Pray for all those who continue to suffer from recent floods, and for aid agencies to get to them.
India: Pray for Janaki as she tours in the U.K., for the Lord's provision for her work, and for her health as she travels.
Jo and Paula: Pray that as Paula's retreat comes to an end, she may know the Lord's direction for them both for the coming days.
Belgium: Continue to pray for Nathan at school, for good friends, and pray for wisdom regarding new opportunities for Ecriture following the trip to Nashville.
S.Africa: Continue prayer for the Nobbs' work in Durban with the Y.W.A.M. base and the Discipleship school. Pray for provision for new buildings.
International Y.F.C: Continue prayers for Sam's health and give thanks for Martin's trip to Turkey. Pray for them as he prepares for two further trips in the near future.
B.Y.F.C: Pray for Neil and his leadership team as they begin to implement changes following the recent 40 days prayer. Pray for Joy as she balances family needs with work at the hospice and is also at Waverley for her course for part of this week and next.
Local: Pray for Phil as his sabbatical draws to an end, and for Sally and the P.C.C. Pray for Rachel and those who help in Sunday club. Pray for more children and young people and more leaders. Remember Mick in his role as warden, and our worship leaders and preachers. Pray for the various groups, including "Time to Talk" and Plus. Pray for those who are ill at this time and their carers. Remember Sam and Haley as demands on C.A.P. have greatly increased, as have needs of the food banks etc. countrywide.
