This Weeks Prayer Points
Taiwan/China/Hong Kong: remember the people of Taiwan at this tense time and especially President Tsai Ing Wen. Pray for the Christians. If China took over the running of the island, there would possibly be persecution as there is in China and now, probably in Hong Kong. Pray for the Lord's will to be done in the current situation and for a de-escalation in tensions. If China took over the running of Taiwan, there would be consequences for islands such as the Philippines, and maybe even as far off as Hawaii. Ask for the United States to be given wisdom.
Pakistan: Pray for the people of Baluchistan where there has been flooding, and for all other places affected by changing weather
Panama: The running of the canal which is vital for the Panamanians' economy and also their supply of drinking water, has been affected by less than usual rain. Pray for them and for the spread of the gospel there. Christians have opportunities of meeting with many different nations passing through.
Ukraine/Russia: There have been continued air strikes in some towns, causing more loss of life. Pray about the safety of the nuclear plant in Zaporizhzhia, and also the people in Crimea which President Zelenzsky would still like to see back under Ukrainian control. This week there were some explosions near a town used a lot by Russian holiday makers. It is not certain what caused these.
Israel/Palestine: Pray for peace in the West Bank, Israel and Gaza after some jihadi elements were attacked by Israel, worried about possible conflict.
Pray for all who have been bereaved in the latest fighting.
Belgium: Give thanks for the Prices' safe return to Brussels after their work in the U.S. and Canada, and good family time in Switzerland. Pray for their next assignment, when Ecriture will be leading worship at a conference in Marseille, France. This is for 150 students later in August. Pray for safe travel for Helen and Malcolm as they go to Marseille on 19th.
Jo and Paula: Continue to pray for their health and long-term plans, that they may know the Lord's leading. Remember their family in Russia and friends in Ukraine.
Janaki: Continue prayer for her and her team and the general situation in India regarding the church, also for her plans to visit the U.K. next month.
International Y.F.C: remember Jim and his family in India and give thanks for the recent online conference that Martin facilitated. Pray for all the African nations that Y.F.C. is involved with and give thanks for their online conference.
Pray for Ukraine Y.F.C. as a number of the staff are now in Slovakia.
Pray for Martin as he plans a few trips in the coming months and for Sam's health. Ask for wisdom for the medical staff looking after her.
B.Y.F.C: Pray for Neil as he returns from a week speaking each day at a church camp in Devon, and for Molly and Lucy who have worked at Limitless this week. Lucy goes straight on to do another week at Satellite. Pray for good health and stamina. Pray for the leaders of Sense as they have heard from the Lord during the 40 days of prayer about a change for them, and for all the staff as they are processing what they have heard in terms of future ministry. Pray that the family get some time out together the week of 21st August.
U.K: Give thanks for all the outreach that went on during the Commonwealth Games and the many Christian conferences still on-going. Praise the Lord for a very positive outcome from the Lambeth Conference. Pray for all who are very concerned at rising fuel costs and food prices and ask for wisdom for the government. Pray for the Lord's will to be done regarding the Conservative leadership contest.
Local: Give thanks for Phil and Bec's time in Italy and pray for the Lord's blessing on them as a family. Pray for Sally and all who are leading in the church, including P.C.C. and Mick. Pray about the church's finances and those who are working on them, and for a treasurer to come forward.
Pray for all who are ill, those who care for them, and all who have recently been bereaved.
