Family Spot Appeal!
As you are all aware – we are aiming to make our church as eco-friendly as possible – recycling, reusing, etc, and this includes all the activities that go on in our church community.

Family Spot would love to recycle glass jars for one of our regular autumn activities – we make tealight holders which requires glass jars of a certain shape and size!

We are looking for jars no taller than 10cm high, eg marmalade/jam/chutney jars about 200/250 ml or 8floz capacity. If you have any jars that would be helpful – please bring them in to church and leave them in the Narthex thank you. In the past we have bought the jars in, but I’m sure between us we can provide the things we need.

Also, we are needing plant pots – we are planning an Autumn bulb planting activity and need plant pots to do this – do you have pots stacking up in your shed?!

Any compost would be gratefully received as well…

Thank you,

Sarah, Frances, Mark, and the Family Spot team

This Weeks Prayer Points

Iran: Continue to pray for the country as protests continue against the government. Pray for Christians who suffer persecution and all women, especially those who are in prison following demonstrations. Pray for a change of regime.

Ukraine: Pray for all who have suffered in the latest drone attacks which have knocked out a lot of power infrastructure. Pray for an end to the conflict and for people in Russia who have tried to protest against the war and those who have fled the country.

India: Continue prayers for complete healing of Janaki's neck following her amazing escape from the car crash. Give thanks that even this last week she was seeing healings at a meeting she was involved in.

China: Pray for the Christians as President Xi begins a third term as leader. Pray also for the people of Taiwan as he has not ruled out using force to reclaim the island as part of China. Continue to pray for Hong Kong and Macau which are now ruled by China.

North Kenya , Somalia etc. Pray for the areas affected by drought. Many are very short of food as harvests have failed. Somalia is very difficult to get aid into because of militant groups, and Ethiopia, which is also affected by drought, is fighting in Tigray province. Pray for all who are suffering.

Nigeria/ Pakistan: Both these countries continue to suffer from severe flooding. Pray for help for those affected.

Lebanon: Continue to give thanks for the Y.F.C. team and all that they are doing, especially in the Bekaa amongst refugees. It is reported that a number of people in the country are suffering from cholera. Pray for this not to spread, and for those affected. Iraq has also had cases of cholera.

Belgium: Pray for Malcolm and Helen as they spend time with Nathan and Elliot while Adrian and Fiona provide music for a wedding in France. Pray that the Lord will continue to bless their worship ministry.

S.Africa: Pray for Kirsten Nobbs as she visits Slovakia to encourage Christian writers. Pray for Ben as he cares for the family while she is away, and continue to pray for the Lord's provision for them and the work at the Y.W.A.M. base.

Jo and Paula: Pray for them to be healed of problems they are facing with their health.

International Y.FC: Give thanks for Martin's Croatia trip and all that was accomplished and pray for him and Sam as they spend time together before the next trip to  Romania.

B.Y.F.C. Pray for Neil as he attends meetings in London this week and for the rest of the family, and for Neil's visit to St. Andrew's at the end of this month.

U.K: Continue to pray for the Lord's will to be done in decisions the government is taking. There is huge anxiety over the current economic climate, but not only in our country - also in France and other nations.  Pray that many will turn to the Lord and know Him to be the Rock they need at this time. Pray for the N.H.S. and pray that Covid will not escalate.

Local: Pray for Phil, Bec and family and Sally, Malcolm and their family, and remember all who lead in worship and in other ways. Ask the Lord to bless the various groups which meet each week, such as Plus, Tuesday Group, Time to Talk etc. Remember those who are not well and those who care for them.
