This Weeks Prayer Points
U.K: Pray for the Royal family at this sad time, and also Liz Truss and the new government. Give thanks for the number of services being held and the public reading of the scriptures and many references to the Queen's faith. Pray that as people grieve, not only for the Queen, but also for personal losses during Covid, that many will awaken to faith in Jesus. Ask for stamina and strength for those who are taking part in various ceremonies, and for our police as they have the challenge of safety in such vast numbers of people coming together. Remember too, all church leaders, and especially Justin Welby and others who will play a key role in the funeral.
China/ Russia: This week a summit is being held in Uzbekistan with president Putin, Xi, and leaders from Turkey, Iran , India and Pakistan. Pray for the Lord's will to be done and that any alliances formed will not be detrimental to world peace. Remember the Christian communities in all these countries, many of whom suffer persecution. Pray about the zero tolerance Covid strategy of the Chinese government which causes a lot of hardship to the people.
Ukraine: Pray about the recent gains of the Ukrainian army in the Kharkiv region. Give thanks for the great joy these have brought to those who have been suffering under Russian occupation, but pray also that these losses will not lead to a further increase in Russian bombing and other attacks, especially in the region of Kherson. Continue prayers for the safety of the nuclear plant in Zaporizhzhia.
Kyrgyzstan/Tajikistan: There have been border clashes between these countries. Pray for peace, remembering Christians in both countries. In Tajikistan, they are supporting many Afghan refugees with food etc.
Kenya: Give thanks that the new president, William Ruto has been elected without violence and that he and his wife are Christians. Pray that they may carry out the will of the Lord regarding problems facing the country.
India/Janaki: Give thanks that Janaki is now in the U.K. Pray for her health, giving thanks that it is improving, and ask for strength that she may be able to share what is on her heart with all whom the Lord wants her to meet.
Continue to pray for her visit to us here. She arrives on 24th.
Belgium: Give thanks for a very useful conference last week in Nashville that the Prices were able to attend. This has led to important developments in the future expansion of the work of Ecriture, making worship songs in French for the French-speaking world. Pray for Nathan, for good friendships in his new school year.
Jo and Paula: Pray for Paula who is currently on retreat, and for Jo's health, for direction regarding the Lord's will for their ministry.
