At the Grill by William Torres: EPDs… are they as easy as 123?

Read more here.

Are your bulls earning their keep?

There’s the traditional way of doing things, and there’s the new (usually more effective/informative) way. Dr. Waylon Wise of Cow/Calf Health and Management Solutions explains both as they relate to bull breeding soundness evaluations (BBSEs) and DNA parentage strategies. Read more here.

On a slightly different subject...

In this webinar, latest Gentec Management Board member Bob Kemp discusses his research and methods to try and improve meat quality in pigs while trying to maintain low input costs. While pigs aren't beef cows, there's always something to learn from what other sectors do.

Congratulations to Gentec's Janelle Jiminez

After five years as a research coordinator at Gentec, we are pleased to see Janelle advance her career with the AMR - One Health Consortium at UCalgary. Janelle's tremendous people, animal health, genomics and time management skills will serve her well as she takes on this role in conjunction with her Gentec duties. She is excited to be expanding her skills Alberta-wide!
