Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Medical marijuana offers relief to individuals suffering severe pain that often cannot be alleviated in any other way.  Motivated by our moral conviction to ease suffering, Clergy for a New Drug Policy mobilized over 60 clergy in Pennsylvania to support medical marijuana legislation.  We received extensive press coverage.

Rabbi George Stern, Rev. Alexander Sharp, Pastor Shawn Berkebile, Rev. Bonnie Whittier, and Rev. Theodore Cockley argue for "sensible medical marijuana legislation."

Twenty-three states, covering over one-half of the nation’s population, have already passed medical marijuana bills.  We know how to draft comprehensive and well-regulated legislation.  We look forward to a day when medical marijuana is available in all 50 states to all who stand to benefit from it.

The state senate has approved a good bill, and we expect a vote in the House soon.  We will keep you informed of progress in Pennsylvania.
Faithfully,
Rev. Alexander E. Sharp
