The Hume Center for Writing and Speaking

Happy Fall Quarter from us at the Hume Center for Writing and Speaking! We are so excited to introduce our Fall tutoring hours and new and returning Fall workshops and events for Stanford undergraduate students. Whether you are an old pro or fresh on the Farm, we invite you to visit us at the center now and throughout the school year!

Center hours: Monday-Wednesday 10 AM - 10 PM
Thursday 10 AM - 8 PM
Friday 10 AM - 4 PM
Sunday 1 PM - 10 PM

Sign up for a writing or speaking appointment at Visit a drop-in writing tutor in Hume (bdg 250) anytime the center is open or in select dining halls from 10 PM - 12 AM
Check out Tutoring in the Dorms! Work with a peer writing tutor on coursework, brainstorming or revision, cover letters, and more.
Schedule Recurring Tutoring Appointments. Want to visit Hume regularly without having to schedule appointments again and again online? You can do that!
Buckle down and get writing done for your honors thesis! Attend Honors Writing Boot Camps with snacks and drinks provided and no advanced sign-up required.
Learn the craft of Storytelling! Drop in on a StoryLab workshop to build vivid, compelling stories out of your research, personal experiences, imagination, and insights.

  • Workshop topics may include writing your honors proposal, managing the honors thesis, and learning to write in accordance with the conventions of a particular field.
