We are very proud to announce that INJAZ Lebanon was granted the Compliance Award at the 8th Annual MENA Training (AMT) in Abu Dhabi for abiding by JAW and INJAZ Al-Arab policies, procedures and deadlines during the past academic year. The event allowed us to meet with the INJAZ family across the region, network and share our best practices and experiences. Classrooms turn into companies with the support of Asfari Foundation

Asfari-Foundation-INJAZ-Lebanon-Company-ProgramINJAZ’ Company Program is now officially launched for 2016 thanks to the sponsorship of The Asfari Foundation. We are also very excited to announce that for the first time this year, we have added a University Track to the program along with the initial High-School Track, albeit each category competes separately. As for the numbers, this year counts nine high-school teams and four university teams who are all mentored by our qualified professional volunteers and volunteering partners that include B1 Group, Berytech, Gezairi, My Club, NADAL, SEED and UpSkilled Grad.

All the teams have already selected their business ideas, split into departments and are now in the production phase. We are curious to know more about their ideas and products, so stay tuned! For the list of participating schools and universities, please click here.

177 students participated in three Innovation Camps sponsored by Citi Foundation

INJAZ Lebanon organized a series of three Innovation Camps (iCAMP) during the months of February and March reaching a total of 177 students from different schools and universities across Lebanon with the support of Citi Foundation. Each iCAMP was adopted by a different company that provided the mentors to support the participants and developed the business challenges, namely Berytech (February 20th), Bank Audi (March 5th) and Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club (March 12th). The respective business challenges included coming up with a new community space concept for entrepreneurs, solving the traffic problem in Lebanon and creating a service or product that promotes the touristic and entrepreneurial side of Tripoli. The program is set to run again in April, May and June 2016 to reach additional students from schools and universities.

Getting ready for their career life thanks to Metlife

INJAZ-Lebanon-Metlife-Steer-Your-CareerINJAZ’ Steer Your Career work-readiness program sponsored by Metlife mentored 78 students from the Lebanese American University (LAU), Antami and Ruwwad organizations on key employability skills.

This workshop was very helpful as everyone of us was applying for internships and/or for a job and need help in his/her resumé,” said Mimi Al Alam, an INJAZ student from LAU. We extend our gratitude to Deloitte, Koudourat Resources & Solutions, Metlife, Mitsulift and UTOPIA for providing us with their amazing volunteers. Another 11 classes are scheduled for April-May including first-time students from CNAM Beirut and volunteers from Metlife and Fattal Holding.

Teaching More than Money skills with HSBC

“I learned how to sell, buy things and how to use and save money in the best way possible,” said student Rayan Abed Al Naser Kabreet, 11 years old from Saida Generation School. With the increasingly difficult financial situation and challenges in the region, it is crucial to teach children how to become responsible consumers and set plans for their future. Read More
We are very grateful to Peter Yeates, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSBC Lebanon who volunteered to deliver the program in Ahliyah School. "(...) The children were very enthusiastic and they developed some really great ideas for businesses as well as some very artistic logos! Hopefully they will all remember what they learned when they make their next purchase (by thinking SMART), and when they set up their new multi million dollar businesses in about ten years time. I encourage everyone to get involved and to teach a class. It will open your eyes to a different world, build your respect for teachers and will definitely increase your humility!" said Mr. Yeates.

Meker promotes entrepreneurship through It’s My Business

Working in groups, identifying entrepreneurial characteristics, discovering the market, planning for a teen club are some of the skills that 78 students from Tripoli and Mount Lebanon learned by participating in the It’s My Business program sponsored by Meker, the leading manufacturer of kitchens and wardrobes in Lebanon. Volunteers from Bank Audi and other independent professionals participated in the program implementation to date, more deliveries to come with the help of other volunteering partners including Metlife and Fattal Holding.

Back in Saida with Bank Audi

INJAZ Lebanon has partnered with Bank Audi’s Corporate Social Responsibiliy (CSR) department to run a pilot project in South Lebanon, delivering both the More than Money and Be a Leader programs to students from Saida Generation School. Be a Leader exposes students to all the skills needed to become a successful leader by focusing on topics such as influence, vision and collaboration. One class of 21 students participated to date in the program with the help of Bank Audi volunteers whereas another 16 classes across Lebanon are to be implemented during April–May with the support of Metlife and Fattal Group volunteers.
