Smarter Lunchrooms in Action!
A Milk Matters Campaign at Westmont Elementary in Anaheim, California, not only encouraged students to make healthy food choices but also reduced food waste. Partners in the campaign included Ani Tarpinian, Health and Wellness Coordinator for Anaheim Elementary School District, Candice Sainz, Community Nutrition Adviser for Dairy Council of California, and Steve Miller, Instructor of Mobile Dairy Classroom. TAPs Toolkit
We are excited to inform you that the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement of California Technical Advising Professionals Toolkit is available to be accessed online by Certified TAPs.
The TAPs Toolkit is an important resource for SLM work in schools. Certified TAPs now have online access to a wealth of materials developed by experienced TAPs eager to share successful strategies.

Provided in the TAPs Toolkit:
  1. Guidance for conducting school cafeteria assessments and observations.
  2. Forms and templates to track progress.
  3. Support in working with key school staff to make positive changes in the school lunch program.
  4. Help with coordinating comprehensive nutrition education and promotion efforts.
The toolkit will continue to be revised and expanded based on the needs of TAPs in the field.
To access the toolkit, certified TAPs must first register online at by clicking the Login button at the top of the page and following the instructions to set up an account.
