Use digital media to engage students and show the benefits of eating foods from all five food groups! Remind students that food is not nutrition until it’s eaten and encourage students to eat the recommended daily servings from each food group. Display the video in the service area of your school cafeteria, in the front office and on your website.

In July 2016, the USDA updated local school wellness policies (LSWPs) requirements. As a result most school districts will need to realign and strengthen existing LSWPs. This session will outline the guidelines, review the latest research and highlight current policy work at the state and local levels.

This is the first in a two-part webinar series on LSWPs. The second
, Local Perspective on School Wellness Policy Implementation! (Wellness Policy Series, Part 2), scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. PDT, will highlight the local perspective on implementation. You can register for the second webinar here.
