Smarter Lunchrooms in Action!

Hurricane Cafe
The Hamilton Middle School's cafeteria, which is in Fresno Unified School District, has been rebranded to the Hurricane Cafe and decorated with school colors. The menu board and menu cards have been created to highlight the food groups represented in each food item. In the cafe, a nutrition corner has been added to highlight the benefits of foods from each food group and brightens up the lunchroom with amusing colors and engaging food pictures! Check out the "before" and "after" photos to see the difference!

Power Up Your Breakfast

This online educational game teaches children how to eat a healthy breakfast from all five food groups. They build a healthy breakfast by selecting foods from a virtual kitchen to put on their breakfast plate.
Power Up Your Breakfast was designed for Transitional Kindergarten through second grade students. Classroom nutrition education lessons provide students the opportunity to summarize and reflect on what they learned in this eLearning breakfast activity.
