The competition is heating up (literally!) here in Antigonish. Team sports are finishing off their round robin games and it looks like both Basketball and Soccer have a real shot at making the gold medal finals! Stay tuned to see how they finish off the day...
Rhythmic Gymnastics begins competition with the preliminary rounds today.
The heat warning is still in effect for Antigonish so the mandatory break will take place between 1 and 4 pm. A great big shout out to Team Toba athletic therapist Alyssa Reagh for doing such a great job of taking care of our athletes in this weather!
Last night, friends and family were treated to a BBQ at a local school in town. While eating, everyone was entertained by local musicians and speeches by our amazing honorary guests. Outdoor games were also set up for everyone to enjoy. It was a great evening!
Tonight, competition picks back up and the event to see is the 100m finals which will be done under the lights at the track. You won't want to miss it!

TEAM TOBA FAMILY SPOTLIGHT
There are 7 family connections on Team Toba this year and we think that's pretty cool! One very special connection is the Cook family. Athlete Courtney (L) is a rhythmic gymnast who gets to experience the games with her sister, Brittany (R) who is an assistant coach for athletics. But that's not all - their dad, Ian, is also an assistant coach with athletics.
The family that competes together... right?
POLL There are plenty of Canadian sports legends here at the Games. Which one of these Olympic athletes is NOT one of those celebrities here cheering on our athletes?
