Merry Christmas from R&D Whitman Academy!

From all of us here in Amman, staff, students, teachers, and board members, we would like to send out our warmest holiday wishes. May you all find peace with the Prince of Peace and abundant joy as you meditate on God’s amazing extension of love and grace to us commemorated in this season.

Blessings,

Julia J. Nuqul M. Ed. Ed. D.

Head of School, Roy & Dora Whitman Academy

Amman, Jordan

We are proud to announce Whitman’s very first choir!  Mrs. Michelle Miles has been working with 27 students in grades 7-12 to produce a phenomenal Christmas performance. Please enjoy a short sound snippet (click on the image below) stolen during practice to send our Christmas greetings…
As is our tradition, each year at Christmas, students donate school supplies, toys, and toiletries to be delivered to children in need. This year’s “Angel Project” will provide 135 Syrian refugee children with much needed basic supplies and a little fun.  Students gather after chapel to pack the gifts in an assembly line extravaganza. Last year, they packed 250 backpacks in about 20 minutes. A group of students and our school chaplain and leadership coordinator, Andrew Attia, will deliver the gifts in mid-December.
Andrew Attia, class of 2010 has been working at Whitman since Fall 2014 as chaplain, Bible teacher and leadership coordinator. He is a bible and theology (minor in TESOL) graduate of Lee University. He has been instrumental in developing the leadership program and coordinating our annual giving projects.
Prayer Request Corner

Please pray for the country of Jordan.

Aidan Beasley, class of 2016, who starred last year as Max in the Whitman musical, The Sound of Music, became the first freshman to be cast in his university’s drama production, 39 Steps.  This is quite an honor because the play has only a cast of 5!  Congratulations to Aidan. You’ve made us proud and pleased that our drama program was able to prepare you for this role. Break a leg!
