Welcome to the first edition for Spring 2019.

The sun is out and the birds are singing, so settle in as we update you with our exciting news from the Australian Food Awards, as well as upcoming events during what will be a very busy few months for the team here at The Meat Room.
TMR wins TWO Silver Medals at the Australian Food Awards

We are excited to report that James’s passion and dedication to his craft has seen our Fennel Salami and Zingara Salami awarded Silver Medals at the Australian Food Awards.

The Victorian Salami Festival - Dal Zotto Wines
Saturday October 5th

Not long now until for the day of festivities that is The Victorian Salami Festival. There will be a lot of fun in store for all of those who managed to secure a ticket to the day. If you haven’t already, make sure to like the Victorian Salami Festival Facebook page to keep yourself in the loop with all the festival updates.
Tickets were in very high demand and have officially SOLD OUT for this year. If you missed out, make sure you keep an eye out when tickets go on sale next year to lock yours in early.

Salami entries are still being accepted, but you only have until September 22nd to get your entries in. If you are dropping your entry off to us here at The Meat Room, please phone ahead to make certain we’re here to accept your entry.
The Great Murry Salami Festival - 
Saturday October 12th

This day of live music, food stalls and family fun is not to be missed! There’ll be something for everyone, especially for all you salami lovers.

The inaugural Great Murray River Salami Festival will be taking place on the banks of the mighty Murray River, in Euston.

Think you make mean salami? Why not enter it into the Best Salami Competition – entry forms are available to download via the Great Murray River Salami Festival website.

Tastes of the Goulburn - 
Saturday October 19th

Head deep into Central Victoria this October to experience the finest food & wine from Victoria’s Goulburn Valley! Tastes of the Goulburn is back for 2019 and The Meat Room will be there!
There’ll be demonstrations by celebrity chefs, enjoy the live music, taste gourmet regional produce and local award-winning wines. You’ll be sure to discover some exciting new products and flavours,
James will be doing a salami making demo in the Producers Kitchen (time TBC! Keep an eye on our Facebook page!). Remember to drop by and see us. We’ll have our salami on hand for tastings and for purchase, so you can satisfy your salami cravings.
So, set a reminder in your calendar and set the sat nav for Seymour.
Tastes of the Goulburn kicks off in Station Street, Seymour, on Saturday October 19, from 10am-5pm.

Festa di via Verde - 
Saturday November 16th
Celebrating all things Italian, the Ciao Yarra Valley Ciao is a month-long festival, a part of which is the Festa di via Verde.

This year will be the second time this event has been held. Head on over to Healesville and join us in enjoying this family-friendly day.

The festival also coincides with the spectacular Targa Florio Australian Tribute competition and gathering of car clubs. If you are a car fan, why not plan to visit both?

East Malvern Food & Wine Festival - 
Sunday November 17th
This free event is in its 4th year. Come join us at Central Park in East Malvern to enjoy a day made for food and wine lovers.
Regional culinary exhibitors and producers will be showcasing their products on the day, complemented by the wide range of wine, craft beer and cider from wineries, breweries and cideries across Victoria.

You’ll be able to meet and chat with the producers and makers of exceptional Victorian produce, and with Gourmet Food Vendors. Throw in some live entertainment and it’ll make for the perfect Sunday picnic spot. Furry friends are also welcome, making this a perfect event for the whole family!

Sausage Making Classes -
New Class Dates for 2020

With 2019 quickly drawing to a close, all of our class dates for this year have sold out. If you missed out, don’t worry, we’ll be adding new 2020 dates for our ever-popular sausage making classes soon.

They do sell out quickly, so make sure to keep an eye out for updates on our Facebook page or website.

Our classes provide an enjoyable day out, where you will learn how to make your own delicious sausages. You’ll go home armed with everything you need to know and all the techniques to get you making your own sausages like a pro, as well as 4kgs of delicious, preservative free, free-range pork sausages to enjoy!
A yummy morning tea and a freshly-cooked wood fired pizza lunch is also included.  

Classes run from 9am – 1pm. Cost: $250 per person, with morning tea & lunch included.
