It’s salami season, and at The Meat Room, we are happily up to our ears in all things salami!
Whilst it’s hard to drag ourselves away, we didn’t want you to miss out on our updates and upcoming events, so this newsletter will be short but sweet (or perhaps savoury?).
Truffle Melbourne Festival Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd June
Truffle Melbourne Festival celebrates the winter black truffle season, and we’ve been part of Festival for several years now.
Held at The Queen Victoria Market, this is a free event, full of festivities, bringing together truffle growers, truffle chefs, and gourmet food and beverage producers.
If you are looking for a place to head this weekend (22nd and 23rd of June), that place should definitely be The Queen Victoria Market.
James will be holding a salami-making demonstration on Sunday at 10:40am at Shed A, so make sure you head along and check it out!
There are some great events in the coming months which are sure to be amazing fun, so grab your diary and make sure to note these down!
The Victorian Salami Festival - Dal Zotto Wines Saturday October 5th
Get your diaries out and lock in The Victorian Salami Festival for Saturday October 5th to enjoy a day filled with fun, laughter, salami demonstrations, live music, amazing food and awesome wine!
The Il Salame Perfetto (The Perfect Salami) debate continues - which region produces the finest Salami, the north or the south? The debate has been raging for centuries, and you’ll have a front row seat as a battle plays out.
Fancy yourself as a salami making aficionado? Think your salami is worthy of taking the title of Il Salame Perfetto (The Perfect Salami)? There will be some great prizes are on offer so keep an eye out for when the entry forms are released.
The festival will be held at Dal Zotto Wines, and we will let you know further details closer to the date.

If you, or someone you know, are keen to learn how to make your own delicious sausages AND have an enjoyable day out, make sure you book soon as places within the classes are limited.
Our sausage making classes provide you with everything you need to know and all the techniques to get you making your own sausages like a pro! Not only will you learn everything you need to know to start making your own sausages at home, you will also enjoy a yummy morning tea and freshly-cooked wood-fired pizza for lunch.
AND it doesn’t stop there! You will also take home 4kgs of delicious, preservative free, free-range pork sausages to enjoy.
Classes run from 9am – 1pm. Cost: $200 per person, with morning tea & lunch included.
