We’re back with our first Spring edition of The Meat Room newsletter for 2018.

It’s festival season, and we’ll be hitting the road and heading to a multitude of markets and festivals over the next few months. Find out where below and come and join the fun!

Our first Lancefield Farmers Market 
Saturday September 22

Looking to get your hands on some of our tasty treats? Good news! We’ll be at the Lancefield Farmer’s Market this Saturday!
The Lancefield Farmer’s Market is a relatively large market with around 50-60 stalls depending on the season, and provides a wide range of fresh produce from around the area. If you aren’t already familiar with the market, it is set-up in the middle of the town - Centre plantation, High Street, Lancefield (View Map). We’ll have our small batch salami on the day. It will be our first time with a stall at this market, so make sure to pop-by and say hi!

The Victorian Salami Festival - Saturday October 6th

If you haven’t already done so, make sure to get The Victorian Salami Festival in your diaries for Saturday, October 6th. Tickets are on sale and are limited to 300, so make sure you book via their website:, via email: or by phone 03 57298321
You’ll enjoy a day filled with fun, laughter, salami demonstrations, live music, amazing food, awesome wine and, of course, Il Salame Perfetto (The Perfect Salami)! Which region produces the finest Salami, the north or the south? The debate has been raging for centuries, and you’ll have a front row seat as a battle plays out.

Fancy yourself as a salami making aficionado? Think your salami is worthy of taking the title of Il Salame Perfetto (The Perfect Salami)? Great prizes are on offer, so don’t delay – you have until September 22nd to complete your entry form and get your sample in for judging. The Great Murray River Salami Festival
Saturday October 13th

Euston is holding its inaugural Great Murray River Salami Festival on the banks of the Murray River.

Join this day of live music, food stalls and family fun! There is something for everyone, especially for salami lovers!

Enter your homemade salami for a chance at salami stardom in the Best Salami Competition. You’ll see a familiar face on the judging panel, as The Meat Room’s very own James Mele will be on hand as a guest judge alongside Saskia Beer.

Tastes of The Goulburn
- Saturday October 20th

Experience the finest food & wine from Victoria’s Goulburn Valley! Make sure you circle October 20 in your diary and set the sat nav for Seymour.
Tastes of the Goulburn is back for 2018 and The Meat Room will be there!
Discover exciting new products and flavours, check out celebrity chef demonstrations, enjoy the live music, taste gourmet regional produce and local award-winning wines. Be sure to drop by for a chat and secure your salami fix.
Tastes of the Goulburn kicks off in Station Street in Seymour on Saturday October 20, from 11am-5pm.

Macedon Ranges Food & Wine Festival
at Rowanstown on the track Winery
- Saturday & Sunday,
November 17 & 18

Head on over to Rowanstown on the Track Winery and experience the Budburst Festival on November 17 & 18 where The Meat Room will be serving up delicious food.
The region’s vignerons will throw open their doors to celebrate buds bursting on a new vintage, giving you the perfect excuse to explore the Victorian countryside and enjoy the Macedon Ranges.
So why not get out of the city and spend a weekend in the country this November. We look forward to seeing you there!

Oxley Bush Market
Saturday November 3rd

The Oxley Bush Market, held at the historic Oxley Shire Hall (built in 1875), attracts thousands of visitors annually. Their 175 stall market provides a variety of home-made, home-produced and home-grown items, as well as yummy gourmet foods.

Held at the same time as the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues, it offers the perfect opportunity to explore both festival and market. Why not make a weekend of it?

The Meat Room will *likely* be attending this year, where we will have our small batch salami available to purchase. We are pending confirmation on our spot at the market and will update you in our next newsletter and/or via our Facebook page.

Sausage Making Classes 

It has been a busy year with our very popular sausage making classes coming to an end for this year. 

If you missed out, don't despair! We have just listed two new classes for 2019. 
  • Saturday, February 2nd
  • Saturday, March 30th
If you are interested, then don't delay - make sure to book with us as places are limited. 

In these fun-filled classes you’ll not only learn the skills to make sausages at home, but also get to take home 4kgs of delicious, preservative free, free-range pork sausages which are made on day.  

We use free-range pork, sourced from producers who breed heritage pigs outside, where they are free to roam & forage, ensuring great flavoured pork.
Classes run from 9am – 1pm.

Cost: $200 per person, with morning tea & lunch included.
