Invitation to an Event on Alcohol Policy at the European Parliament, 17th November 2015, Brussels, Belgium
The EU is the highest-drinking region in the world, with alcohol-related costs amounting to €155.8 billion every year.
There is a causal relationship between alcohol consumption and a range of mental and behavioural disorders, including alcohol dependence, other non-communicable conditions such as liver diseases, some cancers, cardiovascular diseases, as well as injuries resulting from violence and road accidents.
Please join us on the 17th of November at meeting at the European Parliament for an event titled:
"Alcohol - Why is it a big thing?"
When registering please send the following information: First name, Last name, Organisation, Position, Email address, Date of Birth, Nationality, Number of identification document, Type of identification document.
Against this background, we look forward to welcoming you to this event to discuss and explore possibilities to urgently address the need to reduce alcohol-related harm at the EU level. A milestone in this direction would be the successful renewal of the EU Alcohol Strategy.
