Atlanta Falcons/TEAM Georgia Update
On Sunday, January 22, the Atlanta Falcons played their final home game at the Georgia Dome decisively defeating the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. The Falcons, the undisputed NFC champions, will be playing the AFC champions, the New England Patriots, in Super Bowl LI on Sunday, February 5 in Houston, Texas.
During our last 2 home games, TEAM Georgia volunteers were part of the enthusiastic fan base cheering on the Falcons to victory. Our volunteers signed up 2,805 and 2,825 designated drivers, respectively at those games. These are truly awesome numbers and TEAM Georgia volunteers need to be commended again for their great work. Way to go Vols.!
While there are 5 major events scheduled at the Dome before its closure in March, the Falcons game played on January 22 represents the last football game to be played in the Georgia Dome. The Dome has been in operation for 25 years and TEAM Georgia has partnered with the Dome for many of those years.
The Atlanta Falcons, the Georgia Dome and TEAM Georgia should all be proud of the terrific service they have provided the community in reducing serious injuries and fatalities on our roads related to alcohol.
“Rise Up” Atlanta. Go Falcons!
