SANDBAG Sewing Circle Needs you!

The SANDBAG Sewing Circle meets every Thursday at the Sandgate Community Centre. Drop by between 10am and 4pm to improve their sewing skills and help create sensory aprons and cushions. The sensory aprons and cushions are being tailor made for residents and clients at local residential aged care facilities and respite centres. Participants have connected with local organisations to trial the aprons and cushions and are now working to tailor make them to peoples interests. Sensory aprons and cushions are designed to be tactile, featuring elements of a person’s life stimulate the senses and evoke memories, they help to bring activity and calm to a person living with dementia.

The Sewing Circle is by donation and is an opportunity to meet with like-minded people, improve sewing skills and give back to the community. People are invited to drop by and take part for as long as they like on Thursdays. For more information and if you would like to get involved please call SANDBAG on 3869 3244 or just drop in on Thursday.
