Green P Farm

Wouldn't it be great if many of the veggies we eat locally were grown locally and chemical free? Imagine eating potatoes within 24 hours of picking them!!!

This is part of the vision behind Green P Farm which is in the middle of the Deagon Racecourse!

Great use of land - you might say. But wait - there is more. There are three or four communities of people Karen- Burmese, Bhutanese, Nepalese who grew food in their home country who are now growing veg here. They are very appreciative of this, but it is also an opportunity for Sandgate community to be welcoming and supportive. People are looking to learn English, and they have a lot to teach about growing food naturally.

Several groups of students are hooked into the Farm and potentially we could be exploring many alternative technologies here. The possibilities are endless, it all depends on how many of us bring our skills and goodwill to bear on the many and varied tasks. Whether your skill and passion is gardening, English conversation with those just learning, keeping facebook alive, promotion and marketing, grant writing or engaging with students, we are keen for your input.
