NASA Astrobiology Debates Western Championship!

During the NASA Astrobiology Debates Western Championship, elite college debate teams from across the nation will grapple with the ethical, political and scientific questions raised by the 2015-16 NASA Astrobiology Debates Topic:

Resolved: An overriding ethical obligation to protect and preserve extraterrestrial microbial life and ecosystems should be incorporated into international law.

The tournament will take place this weekend at the University of Washington, Seattle, with preliminary competition rounds starting on Saturday. A panel of astrobiology thought-leaders will serve as judges and respondents during the debates.
