Shoot & Share

Missing the great opportunity to "Shoot and Share" your photos?

Many members are posting photos and engaging in conversation on Don Rueter’s Photo of the Day Challenge on our club's Facebook Group (2020 paid members only).

These are easy items you can find around the house. This is not a contest - this can be done quickly with any Smart Phone. We are sharing pictures of (e.g.) the color yellow, tools, circles … whatever Don chooses for the day.

The variety of photos, from very simple to extremely imaginative, has been great! So take a look and join the fun!

The link to Our 2020 Membership Directory will be sent soon to all paid members. This is a great time to learn some names and faces!

Online Meetings and SIGs

To meet the needs of our Camera Club during this difficult time of “social distancing,” we have explored several approaches to video conferencing to take the place of our SIGs and other meetings. Zoom is an online meeting service that we like for a variety of reasons, and it appears to meet the needs of most of the SIGs.

Specifically, Zoom allows up to 100 participants in video/audio conferences lasting up to 40 minutes for free subscriptions (no time limit for paid subscriptions); consistent user interface on Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android; and the ability to share content (e.g., slideshows, documents, Lightroom workspaces) among meeting hosts and participants.

We encourage you to give Zoom a try by joining us on this Zoom test.

This will set up Zoom on your device and give you some experience. (Unless someone else is trying the program at the same time, you will see only yourself in the window.) Play with it. Give it a try! Then feel free to email us at with your questions and phone number (if desired) and we will be happy to help!

Mentor Program

Each month many TWCC members share their knowledge and time both informally and formally as “mentors” to other club members. It may be by e-mail, phone, or even in person at different locations around The Woodlands.

Learning from a friend or neighbor is one of the best experiences in a club like ours. To see who’s available to help you grow your photo skills visit
and click the link for mentors and their specialities.

The Woodlands United Methodist Church
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.

In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

He is not here; he has risen!

Luke 24:1-6
